Head of Azerbaijan's State Security Service (SSS), Colonel General Ali Naghiyev, attended the 28th meeting of the Conference of Special Services of Turkic-Speaking States, the SSS Press Service told TodayPress TV.
It was reported that a delegation led by the head of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Ali Naghiyev, participated in the 28th meeting of the Conference of Special Services of Turkic-Speaking States held in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Speaking at the event, the SSS chief drew attention to new global and regional threats arising from modern geopolitical processes, including the severe consequences of ongoing large-scale military confrontations for the operation of transport corridors.
In his speech, the recruitment of citizens through various means as mercenary fighters in military operations, as well as the smuggling of weapons, ammunition and explosives illegally removed from combat zones, were assessed as serious threats to the security environment that aggravate the crime situation.
The SSS chief noted the negative impact of the ongoing crises in the Middle East, including the blockade of strategic straits, on world trade, energy security and the global economy. He emphasized that, amid existing uncertainties, no state can remain unaffected by ongoing developments and stressed the importance of further expanding the exchange of experience and information among partner states to reliably ensure national security and adopt a unified approach to the challenges ahead.
At the meeting, where the current global situation was assessed and necessary steps to ensure regional security in the face of modern challenges were discussed, a final document covering the relevant issues was signed.
