Jeyhun Bayramov reaffirms Azerbaijan’s position in New York

On the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on his election as the new Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), emphasized solidarity in the face of rising Islamophobia, and once again reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s support for Palestinian statehood.

TodayPress TV reports that Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared the information on its X account.

Expressing deep concern over growing regional military conflicts, he called on the OIC to strengthen diplomatic efforts and take joint action to combat discrimination and violence targeting Muslim communities worldwide.

The minister also provided information on institutional preparations for the OIC Summit to be held in Azerbaijan in 2027.
