Jeyhun Bayramov mulls development of Middle Corridor with TRACECA head

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission Jasurbek Choriev, TodayPress TV informs referring to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting participants discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and TRACECA, as well as the expansion of transport and communication ties in the region.

Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to cooperation within TRACECA and plays an active role in the development of transport links between Europe and Asia. It was emphasized that the country's favorable geographical location, modern transport infrastructure, and transit capabilities make an important contribution to efficient and sustainable development.

The minister informed about the work on developing transport infrastructure, expanding the capabilities of the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and improving railway and road connections.

The importance of further increasing the potential of the Middle Corridor, expanding the volume of freight transportation along the route, simplifying and digitalizing transit procedures, and strengthening coordination among the participating countries was noted.

The parties also exchanged views on the possibilities of developing regional transport ties and other issues of mutual interest.
